Maksutov-Cassegrain optical system. The set includes a 32mm eyepiece, which provides 38x magnification, and an 8x21 finderscope.
A telescope consisting of a spherical meniscus corrector (a negative meniscus lens made of crown glass), a primary mirror, and a secondary mirror located on the inner part of the meniscus. Telescopes of this type have reduced coma and astigmatism, and generally exhibit only residual chromatic aberration. They produce remarkably sharp and vivid images. Due to their significant focal length and low light-gathering power, they are perfectly suited for observing the Moon and planets. Unfortunately, such a telescope does not allow for wide fields of view and is essentially unsuitable for observing nebular objects.
This telescope collects approximately 180 times more light than the human eye at night, allowing for the observation of objects up to nearly 11.4 magnitude (compared to naked-eye visibility up to 6 magnitude). The size of the mirror is also related to the optical resolution, which in this telescope allows for resolving stars that are more than 1.6” apart.
Equipment:
32mm eyepiece
8x21 finderscope
