DJI drone controllers — how to choose the right one?


Choosing a controller for your DJI drone comes down to one key principle:
each remote controller is designed for a specific series of drones and cannot
be freely interchanged. Before purchasing, always check compatibility —
the wrong controller simply won't pair with your drone.


The simplest and cheapest solution is the
DJI RC-N3
— a controller without a built-in screen that requires a smartphone to be connected.
It works perfectly for everyday flying and is compatible with a wide
range of DJI drones, including the Air 3S, Mini 5 Pro, Flip, and Neo 2. If you fly regularly
and value convenience, consider the
DJI RC 2
with a built-in 5.5" FHD screen — you don't need a phone, the screen is readable
in full sunlight, and the controller is ready to fly straight out of the bag.


For FPV flight enthusiasts with the
DJI Avata 2,
the dedicated solution is the
DJI RC Motion 3
— a gesture controller operated by wrist movement, working in tandem
with DJI Goggles 3. This is the most immersive way to fly FPV.


Operators of professional DJI Enterprise platforms have two models to choose from:
DJI RC Plus 2
dedicated to the Matrice 4 series (7" 1400 nits screen, 12 km range, IP54) and
DJI RC Plus
for older Matrice 350/300 and FlyCart 30 platforms.
Both controllers offer IP54 resistance, sun-readable screens
and the ability to operate in temperatures from -20°C to 50°C.
