Celestron SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars are the perfect choice for astronomers who demand exceptional image quality from their optics. The SkyMaster Pro ED utilizes excellent optics, coatings, internal components, and housing materials. With large objective lenses, BaK-4 prisms, the use of ED glass, and fully multi-coated optics with Celestron's XLT technology, the image observed through the SkyMaster Pro ED sets the standard among astronomical binoculars.
ED Objective Lenses
Extra-low dispersion (ED) glass virtually eliminates chromatic aberration. The SkyMaster Pro ED delivers sharp edge-to-edge images, excellent color correction, and high contrast.
Coatings and Prisms
All lens surfaces of the Celestron SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars are fully multi-coated with Celestron's XLT coatings. High-quality coatings, similar to those used in Celestron observatory-grade telescopes, increase light transmission across a wide range of the visible spectrum. Additionally, the prisms inside the binoculars are made of high-quality BaK-4 glass, further enhancing light transmission.
Housing
A specially designed rubber coating and durable construction protect the SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars from damage without weighing down the user. Observations through the SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars are comfortable for both eyeglass wearers and those without glasses, thanks to the twist-up eyecups and nearly 21 mm of eye relief. Corrective eyeglass wearers will have no problem seeing the entire field of view with the eyecups folded down.
The eyepieces of the SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars have built-in 1.25" filter threads, allowing for the use of nebular or polarizing filters. Using the appropriate filter can provide magnificent views when observing celestial objects as well as during the day. Filters can reduce bothersome glare during the day, and in the case of nebular filters, increase the contrast between the observed object and its surroundings.
